This morning in our team devotional and prayer time we read the story of the ten lepers who were healed by Jesus, with only one returning to give thanks. Since I first heard this story as a child, I wanted to always be one who was thankful and didn’t forget to acknowledge God and praise Him. I’ve been reflecting this morning since then about expressing thanks to God, and thinking through some specific things God has done recently for which I haven’t distinctly thanked Him. I also had some people come to mind who have blessed me recently, that I want to reach out to and share special thanks.
Have you taken time recently just to sit and think about what God has done for you lately, and then thank Him? It’s a heartening process, and I think it also inspires contentment. If you write it down, it’s amazing how long the list can quickly become! I want to encourage you to do so, and also as people come to mind who God has used to bless you, take a few moments to reach out and thank them as well.
