Michael Barton
Michael joined WIM in 2021 after sensing God’s clear call to serve in Chiapas, Mexico—the country’s poorest state and home to its second-largest indigenous population. During his time in Comitán, he served alongside a Mexican missionary, partnering with local churches and training believers in evangelism, Bible fundamentals, and discipleship. Most importantly, Michael treasures the lessons he learned from faithful Mexican brothers and sisters in Christ.
Michael’s mission is to establish locally led, self-sustaining home fellowships by building relationships and discipling believers to grow in their walk with Jesus and to equip others to do the same. His ministry carries a special emphasis on youth, young adults, and those from broken or abusive backgrounds. He intentionally seeks out people who often feel like outcasts or who struggle to fit into a traditional church setting, sharing with them the hope and love of Christ.
